Raptorman Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 On my amp, the speaker wire terminals are stripped out, ever since I bought it used. The tightening screw easily slides in and out. I've always just put a screw through the hole where the wire goes into, so the wire is snug, but I want to fix it. Does anyone know the tool that rethreads it? I was thinking like a 1/4" hole since 1/4" hardware is damn easy to find and it should fit just fine. 9tr3g Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 More than likely you will have to get a bigger set screw since you said the threads are stripped out. If you can get it close enough you can try to wrap a small strip of electrical tape around the set screws threads. That will hold it in place till you can get the proper thread size. I have a cresendo 2000 that I just bought that I had to do that on. The set screw for the remote wire screws into plastic threads and it is partially stripped.
