(Just like everyone was already saying.) how can you say that modifications that are known to help with spl "don't work in the hatchback"? if SPL modifications don't work, are you suggesting I should try modifications to make it quieter... Why don't you post pictures of both setups, you didn't even state which cars you used. There are no modifications that are known to help 100% in every install. Like Torres said, it is possible you lost dB's, but because of the increase in power the end result stays the same. Why don't you tell us how you flared the port? (flaring a port changes the tuning if you don't change the lenght of the port.) A environment, like your car has a lot of different variables. You can't just change a few variables at the same time and expect it to be better/worse/the same. If you want to know which variables will help your score, you have to test 1 variable and make sure everything else (even the temperature, humidity, air density) is the same. How long was it ago that you metered one car and then the next one? (1 day, 1week, a month?) If you installed the box differently, like moved it a bit closer to the hatch or further away, that could easily affect your score. Please answer the questions and post the pictures if you want answers. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
