zydrix Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 im looking at 18's lately, im wanting to get 1 really good 18 for now, in the future i plan on running a Q3500.1 to the sub, probably @ 0.5ohms before rise, now my questions is, can these subs take that kind of power, im not wanting to get opinions on what sub is better, i dont want this to become a vs thread, can people give me input on these 2 subs. i do listen to 95% decaf music so i would like to be able to play down to 26hz sometimes. so if you all can give me input on these would be great, thanks guys. an remember im not wanting this to become a vs thread, just want opinions on these subs individually. FI SP4 18" SQ (AQ) HDC4 18" My build 98 s10 2.2 3 american bass HD 15s with psi soft parts. (on there way here) atomic at-3000.1 (soon) 146.2 outlaw @39hz., bad alt an bad batt when termed (old 2 12" build) alpine 6.5s in doors infinty 4x6s in dash. clarion cz201 HU. mechman 240a H/O alt stuff i still need. SHCA 2/0 wire SHCA 1/0 to 2/0 adapters Atomic AT-3000.1 Lots of sound deadner new mids an highs, still debating on what to do. A few Deka g31 batts.

Pro7 Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Ami said that hdc4 could take 5-7k and I trust his judgement, also hdc4s area more spl oriented sub so it will want to be tuned high with lots of port area (straight from ami) While sp4 is a much more groundpounding sub with a low fs and i most builds that ive seen them in have 3.5k on each and they seem to really like it but obviously could take more, but that said they can work great with that power if taken into consideration while planning the box I've gotten a blowjob and picked up my iphone behind her back to see what email notification I got from smd before

I think my response was more of what he was looking for, I mean I tried to just make a statement about each and then leave it up to him from there.
