im interested in a mono amp but i dont need anything crazy. im looking for something in the area of 500 watts to 100 watts rms. i currently have 2 alpines rated at 250 rms a piece and when i eventually do upgrade i don't think im going more than 500 watts per sub. im not interested in winning a competition but i do what something decent, that doesn't cost too much and putts between 500-1000 watts rms at 2ohm. any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

The Kenwood KAC-9105d does somewhere around 900w at 2 Ohm. Never clamped mine, that's just what Kenwood rates it at. You can get it for around $150-200 on amazon / ebay

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

soundqubed 750 or 1200. They're a little pricey, but they put out clean power and they're very efficiant. My Audioque 2200d (same as soundqubed 2200d) used about as much power as my old brz2100, but puts out much much much more power. it's worth every buck you pay.

500-1000 at 2 ohms means roughly 1000-2000rms at 1 ohm. i'd increase your budget just a tad so you can go with higher quality products.
