Its ok, we're google. You can trust us.

It amazes me the things we will trust to companies like google because it makes things "easier". If the govenment had cloud storage, for free and said "oh you can store all your personal stuff here" Would you trust them? What if they gave out cameras to wear that had a GPS signal and an always on internet connection. People would be outraged and say it was big brother. They would be talking about how easy it would be to know where everyone was at all times. Hell if you have an android phone, google constantly knows where you are, tracks data and information about your commute, background services log keystrokes . . . So why do you trust google, more than you're own government?

Say you where speaking to someone who was wearing google glass. Can you opt out of them recording you? In public, riding on a bus, anywhere, anything you say within earshot of google glass can be recorded and uploaded. Just add facial recognition and speech to text, and you have a searchable database of everyone who came in contact with that device with locations and times.

Yeah, you make a really good point. Especially considering google has a track record of co-operating with big brother about user information. But of course our government wants to take things and Google wants to give us cool shit like gigabit internet cheap as fuck.

Of course i love google and its magic search engine that i can type shit like what is in the following image and google know that since i am a total fucking idiot, it just compensates and tell me nicely that i am stupid and offers a solution.

So, i think that is why people trust google.

1. Google isn't trillions of dollars in debt

2. Google doesn't tax my earnings from my job

3. Google isn't run by an idiot

Also, I have a regular phone (not a smart phone) that only has a cached version of the internet through cellcom, and I never use it. I also have an iPod touch that is only connected to the internet at home, school, and rarely, on public wifi. So the odds of me being tracked by google are slim to none. And when was the last time Google actually used their tracking info to go out and find someone? They just use the information to improve their services.

And as far as Google Glasses, I doubt many people will be able to afford those for a while, and even if so, why should I worry?? Only the person wearing them needs to worry. What can Google seriously do to me, and why would they do anything? I trust Google because they pose no threat to me.

And when was the last time someone went through the government to get information about their sound system?? Google allows half of us to be on here!!!

because its easy. What if they started making a device you could carry around. You can store all your info in it, get rid of your wallet, it can make purchases for you, Maps? A thing of the past. Need to find a recipie? Sure. Just take this device and everything will be so much easier. We'll know what you do, every minute of the day. How many hours you sit at your cubicle, when you take your lunch, what day you usually go shopping, where all your friends live, who you call. Its so much EASIER though.

No one will even notice . . .
