in thinking of picking this up to upgrade my front door speakers. but i was looking at the component box that you connect the stock speaker wires into and i noticed it has woofer and tweeter inputs. i only have the stock positive and negative wires. would i need to splice a 2ed set of wires into them with a resister for the tweeter? sorry im somewhat new to the car audio. i know a bit about subs and boxes. ive built a single 12 set up that did 135.5db with a stock alt and a single amp.

heres the link to the front speakers im thinking of getting

No. Just run the stock pos and neg wires straight into the crossover (box) input. Then have a pos and neg running from the subwoofer/ mid output to the mid and the tweeter output pos/neg to the tweeter.

Wire it to the woofer in put, then the cross over will send the signal to the mid driver & two the tweeter. RF has good instruction in the box when you purchase them. The other input is for Bi-amping, thats when you run an input for mids & an input for tweeter. Its a more advanced set up. Buy them and enjoy, but best with an amp since there 100 watts RMS & 200 watt Peak.

Just ignore the other one. Like he said it is used for something that you won't need. Would sound a lot better on an amp though. If I were you I would getting something with a lower rms rating so that it would sound better just off hu power.

I believe you connect it to the mid input on the x-over and then it works the output for the mid and tweeter as long as the bi-amp switch is set to off on the x-over.

Bi-amp switch comes from the factory in the off position. You have to open the crossover to switch on when you bi-amp. OP, do you plan on getting an amp in the near future? These speakers want power and if you under power them with HU they wont sound as good.

i eventually want to get a amp and run the components in the front and a 2 way of the same model speaker in the rear doors. what 4 channel amp would u guys recommend. i want to keep the price low. ill have a new born arriving in the next couple of months. my goal is to get clearity and some mid bass. i love my bass but need the cargo room for baby gear in back. next year income tax time i was thinking of building a fiberglass box in the driver trunk pocket of my drunk with a 10in sub

Correction to what everyone else has said, when running one set of speaker wire from a full range source, Rockford Fosgate has you connect them to the tweeter input. The Mid input is only ever used if you have an amp only designated for mids. The instruction manual that comes with the set has all the instructions for wiring the crossover for diffrent uses. I had this same question when I bought my T2 components.
