I'm a dumbass. the title of the thread states the rating. DUH!!!!! I went full retard on that:)

And you cant go wrong going bigger. A bigger alt also allows for electric fans :)

having issues with my singer alt.. after it warms up it fails to charge at idle. keeping me at 12.8 and even 12.5 after sitting at a red light for a while. at idle the alternator is making noises as if it was under load.. the engine idles at 700 rpm so i dont think thats the issue

after checking i found that the 4 gauge wire was hot near the alternator... did a quick upgrade and after an hour its charging at 14.0 at idle and 13.7 with AC and lights on. could be that the alt cooled off a bit so its charging like normal.. i put the battery on the charger and will see how upgrading the wire helps

Did you order the 1/0 lugs? I didn't have any trouble with the 2/0 and the 2/0 lugs.

Build looks great! Glad to hear that you got the charging issue figured out.

i got the 2/0 lugs.. must be because i couldnt find my cutter and used wire cutters and messed the ends up.. i done it before and didnt have an issue but then again i soldered and the heat could have expanded the lug making it easy.. today i only used the crimper
