DVC Sub Question

If the amp is 1 ohm stable, then I am confused on your point for this topic and "overpowering".

If you can control 500 watts at 2 ohms on one coil, then you should be able to control 1000 watts at 1 ohm. . .

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

If I have a 1000 watt DVC 2 Ohm per coil sub, and I want to run it at 2 Ohms, so I just connect one coil, should I half the rms since I'm running 1 coil? I mean, is a 1000 watt rms DVC sub really 500 watts rms a coil?

I will say that posting what sub and what amp are those can only help.

Some amps don't put out rated some subs can do over rated.

Yeah, those numbers were just theoreticals for a general reply, but the actual equipment in question is an Obsidian 18 v2 D2, amp is EM*Phaser EA 1800D.

I don't know about the Obsidian, rms wattage is 600, but they don't say what the peak is, so I figure around 800-1000 would be a clean safe max. Ex, my type-r 12 is 500rms/1500peak.

Thanks
