DD M3A bass knob clipping light?

So I've set my gain at half way, and when I have a song playing, I turn the knob up halfway. The subs barely move and the clipping light comes on. I've heard these are really inaccurate and detect clipping way before there is. Any help??

true, just forget about that clipping indicator, my m1 and m2 did the same thing, it sucks lol

Now does this info do for any bass knob clipping light? I have an aq750.1 and that light goes off all the time, I have set mine with the dd-1 never her gets warm nor smells.

When it's blinking, your not clipping, but when it's solid but has a little blinking, it's a soft clip. If you used the dd-1 then your fine. I used -10db track and a lot of songs it flashes, some are solid depends on the voltage rail. That's really all I know:)

I used the same track too. I get some pretty solid lightning from that clip light though. I can slam a few songs then feel my sub and it will barely be warm.

Dust caps are supposed to get warm bc that's the cooling working, also electricity goes threw the sub, causes heat. That's how it goes lol but don't worry. Don't pay attention to that knob, if your playing a loud song, for say I got 5 on it bigpimpin remix. It's at 0db so I turn my head unit down 2 notches

ive been curious about these as well. i have bc3500d and mine only like kind of flickers when im playing hard. i was just told when it becomes solid is when i need to take it down alittle. they its pretty accurate with a oscope, and begins to light up right before the amp is clipping.

they are accurate but you have to know what the light means.

no red means you getting hardly any power ahah.

slight blink means your fine. but you can get more power and push it a little more

fast frequent blink you are set perfect. clipping. just barely.

almost all the time on/ stay on all note. you are slghtly clipping but not too bad. but you need to know where it just begins to do this. turn your gain on amp up until this starts to happen when bass knob is at max.

i have DD m2b and i play with the clip light on all the time and subs never heat up and never stink.
