RyanJ
What's up guys. I'm trying to save up money for a play around car because I have my economy car (honda) so I don't wanna do anything else to that. I was wondering, I'm trying to save up for a 1971-81 Monte Carlo SS, but my dad said the years after 71 are bad cars. Does anybody have any experience with these cars? Or is a camaro more worth it. PS, not a vs thread. Please do not turn it into one. I just want advice or feedback on any Monte Carlo owners. Yeah MC's are def. a fine piece of artwork. Lol but honestly, I haven't asked him. But then again, my dad is one of those "MPG Freaks" and he needs the best MPG. But he said the MC's 71 n before are worth a lot more then say the ones after . I want a MC like this: Picture: MOB-MOBILE: 2005 Honda Accord 5-Speed System: (1) Sundown Audio SA-15 (1) MB Quart ONX1.1500D (1) Kenwood KDC-248U Speakers: -Rear Dash: (2) Clarion SRQ6932R 6x9's SOLD New MOB-MOBILE: 2011 G37S Sedan System:TBD Instagram (18+) : DabsWitaBudget415

Swaggasaur
if reliable is your definition of a good car, then yes it is reliable. but this also depends on if its had work done by someone who knows what theyre doing. if its all stock and with decent mileage, then go for it. if youre looking for mpg, dont do it. i recently gauged my mpg with about 200 + lbs of audio and batteries i get about 13 mpg + or - i have a couple build logs in my sig if you wanna check em out. mines a non SS non LS, mines just the base model BHE Wall Build TEAM DC Audio TEAM XS POWER1986 Monte Carlo KMC Nova's 20"4 DC XL's W/ PSI Recones2 DC 5k'sPioneer PRS 8010 Audio Technix 6 XS Power D3100's 1 XS Power D3400 Mechman 220a Alternator

I just want it to be like my work project to make it look as nice as possible. No problems with your car? And I'll def check out your build log. Sutliff
The Monte was introduced in 1970. The 3rd Generation re-design in 1982 (through 1987, though 1988, technically) are the one I liked the best - when the front changed from dual to quad head lights ... like my 1982 El Camino. Anyhow, ... you can check my links below to see what I have done to my 2003 SS.
