iROCKtheFOSgate Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 i got the rfk4 .. 4awg amp kit from rockford fosgate .... is the 4awg power wire good enough for me to hook it up from my front battery to my back ??? im gonna be running a rockford fosgate t1000bdcp at 4ohms and a rockford fosgate t400 for mids and highs front battery is a duralast gold and rear battery is a xs power d375 [sharedmedia=garage:vehicles:2273]
brad4021 Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 when in doubt, run the biggest wire you can the first time. i personally would run 1/0 so you have minimal loss and also better charging of the rear battery because it will flow more current to an extent. also this will give you the option to run bigger amps or batteries that require more power down the road. if you dont ever plan on running more power you may be ok but with 1/0 getting down to the $2 a ft range its not a huge amount of money to buy a run of 1/0 and have it done with room to expand later

DR.TINGTING!!! Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 I personally would swap out that duralast battery with a D3400 and call it done. You shouldn't need a second battery for just a T1000 and a T400. I think the biggest thing you need to do is the big three upgrade and if you plan to go bigger a HO alternator. I would however use 1/0 going back to the amps so you can upgrade in the future with out having to rerun power wire.
