Jskiles Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 Well I've seen the question on different forums asking if they could wire subwoofers of different impedance together. Well technically you can but you will run into problems escpecially if they are in the same box. I made this little RVIP chart and calculated with some good ol Ohms law and Watts law to give you an idea why. The first picture is series and the second one is parallel. Joe X Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 That's for subs wired in series, if they were wired in parallel voltage would be the same and currents would be different. the power figures would be about the same as you have calculated above.

Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

I'm just doing these for simple understanding.
