i want to start by saying this is my first time posting here so if this isnt the right spot for this post i apologize in advance. so im working on a 2002 pontiac grand prix gt i have a little system in it now but its not enough bass for me. right now im hitting a 140.1db at the dash i would like to get to a 148db. i have 2 12in alpine type r running off of 2 alpine m500 amps which is way small i have a rockford 2500bd coming which should be perfect for the subs. ive upgraded my alternator to a 220 amp i have a kinetik 1600 battery with 1/0 run to it. i have the subs in a ported box which is going to be coming out soon im planning on building a larger box around 2.5 cube per sub tuned to around 33 hz. my biggest problem is figuring out placement of the box. i wanted to go with 3 or 4 12s but im not sure if i can fit it in the trunk any help or ideas would be great thanks

Get a nice set of woofers. I'd do 2 12s In a ported box firing forward sealed off. I'd run about 4k rms and given the proper built box, electrical, build ect, you'll be there. I run 2 DD3512s on on 2400w rms and I love it

i had the subs firing forward and i didnt get hardly any bass i didnt have the trunk sealed off which is alot of the reason but i do like the idea of facing them forward almost like steve meade lexus. i have heard mixed reviews on facing forward vs backward. anyone have opinions on this from a spl stand point?

Depends on car man. With my 02 grand am subs are louder facing the trunk, wouldn't even gain by sealing off. Some ppl don't gain but some ppl do. Gotta try it:)

yeah so far i have faced the box toward the back and the front i havent tried firing them up yet but im thing i will be sticking with them firing towards the rear it seems to give me the best out put. ive also decide to upgrade the subs im thing the rockford t0 15s ive heard good things about them. has anyone played with them before? and for the cost is that a good woofer vs others

For the money you can get better dude. Not hating on RF but the price you pay is not worth it, look into sundown, DC audio, skar and many more.

What size amp do you have?

If you bothered to read before just canning an item you would need to ask

There are other brands but nothing wrong with what your look at

What odd do first

Is measure up what u have and run it through Torres or post it here and do a few mock up boxes for each suggested sub and quantise then see what fits your ride and budget

it has to sound better since all air is going in to the cabin not to the trunk.. and even if it sound the same, you will avoid a lot of rattle !

sometimes Loud is NOT pretty

Sounds like its safe to go ahead and bend that ass over.
