mrrbiggz Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 What up fam, I am currently running 1 SA-8 in a ported box being powered by a MBquart 1600, I have 1 4 gauge power run and a 4 gauge ground using a body ground. I was bumpin and my amp cut off..I turned car off and my beats came back on.. -So is it that the 4 gauge is not enough to handle the draw -the stock alt not putting enough out -Ground is not a good ground -speaker wire on sub is two thin 4 gauge power wire w/inline fuse(not blown) 4 gauge ground wire(paint is stripped clean and nut with lock washer and crimped terminal) 12 gauge speaker wire from amp to sub and bridging sub down to 1 ohm) I also will be upgrading to a dual 8 set up sooooonnn Any advise?
skittlesRgood Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 any of those could be the problem. easiest way for us to help you would be to take pictures of every connection and post them here. get a voltage meter and put it on the input side of the amp. turn up the volume and see what the lowest number is that you get, and tell us. mrrbiggz Posted March 23, 2013 Author Report Posted March 23, 2013 Ok I'll take pics of what I can. I had to remove my rear bench to mount the amp on my aft wall..2010 silverado...so the amp reading might be delayed a bit..

Make sure that's not a loose connection that got too loose and broke contact after hitting a bump.
