Skullz
Just put the aero ports where you were going to put the slot port and you'll be fine, just tweak the numbers to get the correct tuning with the aero ports and you'll be good to go. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
Spencer Mills
Well that's the thing, I have no idea how to tune with aero ports. I'll do some reading, but do you have a general suggestion to point me in the right direction?
Bradprobert
If you're using the Torres calculator set it to 2 round at 3in diameter, then adjust the length to get you're desired tuning frequency I suggest about 36-38Hz because the aero ports are more efficient than regular round ports. (The calculator can't give you exact tuning because you're using aero ports and your car itself is something you will need to work around). I would get an estimate of what you want, build it then play with the length of the port to get what you're looking for. Hope this helps [sharedmedia=garage:vehicles:2223] 4th-order under rear seat build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/165708-4th-order-under-rear-seat-chevy-extended-cab/#entry2410477 SD, thank for the input. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .
Spencer Mills
Here is what I came up with quickly. The ports are now facing the rear, subs facing up. Is that alright?
Joe X
So here is a suggestion: Enclosure Specifications:Fb = 33 HzVb = 1.2 ft^3External Height = 15.75 inExternal Width = 22.5 inExternal Depth = 15 inPort Width = 1 3/4 inCut Sheet List:* All Dimensions in Inches.* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.External Enclosure Parts:2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 22 1/2 x 15Left & Right Sides =Side 1 = 13 1/2 x 13 1/2Side 2 = 14 1/4 x 13 1/2Front = 20 x 13 1/2Back = 22 1/2 x 13 1/2L Port Internal Assembly Parts:Front to Back = 11 3/4 x 13 1/2Extension = 16 3/4 x 13 1/2Extension 2 = 8 3/4 x 13 1/2 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes:- The port needs 1 3/4" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested. iCool247
I have a 2dr blazer and I'm thinking about using these measures. My question is where should the port face? The back towards the glass, the roof or towards the rear seats? iCool247
LIttle firepower? Eh, it gets the job done. Some people think I have bigger subs than I actually do. I might go with 12's before Scrapin' this year '01 2DR GMC JimmyPioneer DEH-6300UBMB Quart 6.5'sSoundown Audio SA 8 V2'sMTX RT-202 GONEAudiopipe AP-1800.1D GONE Bass-less
