I had a JBL GTO8 before I got my E8v3. I designed the box in Torres and it came to .66ft^3 (NET volume) tuned to 35hz on a Rockford Fosgate P200.2 bridged on 200watts rms and sounded clean and somewhat loud for its size and expense. I would tune it lower tho. I also listen to mainly rap and pop, seemed pretty clean across all types of music

.6? Thats about half what I was aiming for. I was reading, reading and more reading and it seems for the small subs like this about a foot cube sealed, then 2 ft cubes for the vented area. See I am wondering if there is anytype of synergy using both in conjunction in the same box? Also the power rating. I was thinking of going up on the amps to 800 watts peak, since they are 800 peak. I wont listen to it at those levels, but just to show off.

Guess I need to fool around with torres some more. I just saw the main screen and it was all about ports, slots dimensions. I was expecting something like the ajdesigns progra where it asks you all those specs of the subs.

So, you have minimal power you.can get from the car, since it is a Hybrid. You have subs that are not highest power handling, and you have TIME on your hands. What you're going to need to do, to get the ABSOLUTE most of your equipment being used, is to create the most efficient box possible. The design that pops into my head instantly is a Transmission line. A T-line box is one where you tune to the Fs if the speaker, the free air resonance. I know you're not too familiar with this lingo. There is a section on this site that has tons of information on them. This type of box is perfect for subs that don't need, or can't handle much power. The downside is, the box can be pretty darn big. So check out this link and read your heart out

Thanks for not ripping on me for having a hybrid. Its well paid for itself and can easily break 100 mpg with the addition of a 4 kilowatt lifepo4 battery. It was invented for the prius, but I was 1 of 2 beta testers before the company went out of business in the US. It just back feeds 117 volts and 17 amps into the IMA system so it uses more electric power than gas. The electronics generates some heat and I decided to port that out the side of the car through its body vent. IF you think this is cool or is worth a thread of its own I can post one up. Id love to get with someone who knows electronics and could make a PWM or something more efficient than a tradational inverter thats setup for dc output. Some type of push/pull circuit steps up 48 volts to the 117.

I think you should try a T-Line with the subs loaded isobarically.

I didn't mention it before, but my current setup in my regular cab truck is 2 12s in a low tuned isobaric push/pull. Great sound quality and accuracy with it. A T-Line for those 8s should not be terribly big and will sound GREAT on low power, IF the box is built well and properly.

Could I get you or someone to bang out some plans? I just picked up a second battery and am working on removing my subs from the previous box and laying out the amps and stuff for this. The rear of the car is slightly smaller in all dimensions than a prius. MDF is fine for building material.

with your fuel cell in there, and not much space till window line, either a push/pull or normal t-line will leave you with next to no trunk if not none at all,

your saying you have 2x alpine m450, youll only need 1 as its 400rms@2ohm that would be too much power for them in a t-line unless you were to run the subs in series @8ohm

idd do a normal ported or b/pass box

and mdf is fine 3/4 is best but a well braced 5/8 will be ok

Fuel cell has been disassembled from the enclosured used for the prius and moved under the trunk floor where the spare tire use to be.

Ok, here we go left to right across the rear seat back 34 inches max is and from seat back to hatch opening is 25 inches.
