greggtr
Here is the senario: the choice is between 1 x DD9512 (12") or 2 x DD9510 (10") in the same size box ~2.5 cubic feet + 2 x 4" round 24" long ports and same power 1 x DD M4 (3200rms at 1ohm at 12v, 5000rms at 1ohm at 14.4v) I want it to be LOUD... Which way to go?
SnowDrifter
I'd go with the 2 10s. More cone area, motor force, and coil to dissipate heat ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

zydrix
2 9510s. Reasons why I say that. 1. more cone area. 2. more coil to take that power. 3. 9510s are badass subs! greggtr
Ok... the 2 x 10's are winning... But... The 10's will only get 2500w each and have to share a "smallish" enclosure Vs the 12 with 5000w and large (relative) enclosure

greggtr
I think the 2 x 10's won.... thanks to everyone who replied... Now for part 2: To run the 2 x 9510's can the M4 run them to their limit or do I need the M4a? M4 3500w rms at 1 ohm at 12v (5000w rms at 14.4v) M4a 5200w rms at 1 ohm at 12v (7000w rms at 14.4v) Remember the box will only be around 2.5' and tuned to around 34hz (according to the online port calculators)
