If someone pulls your box off, now they have an open, unsecured hole with free access to whatever is in your carand the bed cover with a lock is not 50 bucks When did he say it was? Just get one with a lock. Easier to spend 50 bucks(vs a non-locking one) extra for one than it is to replace your system because someone decided they wanted it more than you.
