TRON Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 So I'm buying a bunch of little miscellaneous things for a new build. I'm running a Sundown SAZ3500v2, the fuse rating is 350a and I'm guessing its and external. Problem is I can't find any 350a fuses! Well I actually found one, but its $17!? So here's the question: How do you guys fuse for amps this big? The biggest ANL fuses I see guys using for the most part is 300a. There has to be a solution, there are amplifiers out there that draw way more than 300a... Avalanche Alpine Type S comps Alpine Type S 10'' Alpine MPR-F300 Alpine MRX-M50 Mechamn 270 XS Power d3400s

TRON Posted April 20, 2013 Author Report Posted April 20, 2013 2 200A I don't think that will work. As the amp draws more current, the maximum amount both fuses can allow is only 200a regardless on how many you have. You could have 20 fuses in a line, they would all blow at 200a, one at a time. ...right? Avalanche Alpine Type S comps Alpine Type S 10'' Alpine MPR-F300 Alpine MRX-M50 Mechamn 270 XS Power d3400s
TRON Posted April 20, 2013 Author Report Posted April 20, 2013 http://www.solunar.com/Blue-Sea-5135-350A-ANL-Fuse-P22603.aspx Yeah, $17 for one fuse? I can get 25 300a fuses for $26, that's a dollar a fuse! EDIT: not to mention shipping...uggh Avalanche Alpine Type S comps Alpine Type S 10'' Alpine MPR-F300 Alpine MRX-M50 Mechamn 270 XS Power d3400s
Noel989 Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 You'll need 2 runs each with a 200a fuse Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
SLAYER1805 Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 You spend that much money on an amp but won't spend 17 bucks on a fuse lol k
KillaCam Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Depends on the size of wire you're using. I'm assuming 1/0 ofc? If so then use 300a fuses. And the fact more than one person agrees does not make it a circle jerk, it makes it a bukkake scene and you're in the middle Chick took 3 shots of Jager, and then, pissed in my mouth.. TRON Posted April 20, 2013 Author Report Posted April 20, 2013 Yeah but when the amplifier draws over 300a of current say, one of the 200a fuses will blow leaving one left which will blow as well. SnowDrifter Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Personally I'd get some dual inputs and run a pair of 200s or something ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
