momofx76
I have been using a CTEK 7002 (7 Amps max) to charge two group 31 Deka's. I just added two more group 31's and was wondering if this charger is adequate enough to charge all four batteries or should I look into a higher amperage charger such as a XS power 15A charger? kirill007
7 amps for four batteries is to low in my opinion. A 15 amp charger would work a lot better, but it would still take hours to recharge the batteries. I would buy the XS power charger and keep the CTEK, so you have 22amps to charge the batteries. You can charge 1 battery (the one that is the most empty) on the CTEK and three on the XS power charger. Take 5% of the Ah rating and thats how much amps you (ideally) need to charge the battery. So for example a 100Ah battery needs a charger that can supply 5A. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for. SnowDrifter
The ctek will do fine if you are just topping them off overnight. But if you are charging them from a discharged state look into something bigger. 25a+ ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
