I've also turned down a lot of the settings on amp/HU just to make sure I'm not clipping. Don't really trust this amp even though it hasn't ever harmed me (yet). You have a different model than the OP with more fusing. You may be getting the 900 out of it. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Didn't even bother finding a manual on it cause when I got mine it was the first part of my system I had and just kept reading over and over the manual. i471 Posted May 1, 2013 Author Report Posted May 1, 2013 It has 2 30 fuses and they're still good. It doesn't sound blown but just to be safe..how do i check the coils on the sub? and does the gauge of the wire on the sub matter? The current wires are really small.

ric006 Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 As far as your question on the amp and what it should run at is hard to say without knowing some more info on your amp. Model number at least would help and making sure your kenwood can run at 1 ohm makes a difference in your decision. The question you have on the enclosure is up to you as well. First off the hole could be left open which would there fore make it a ported enclosure and depending on the size of the box it will make your tuning of the box different. Therefore will it have any negative effects on sound no. Might it sound different yes. It also depending on the enclosure could put more tension on the sub. If you have enough cubic feet in your box your sub won't feel a thing. If it's smaller than minimum specs it will affect how the sub plays. If too small the sub will have a harder time trying to move and cause more tension on the spider and suspension. Harder the suspension the less tolerable for smaller enclosures. Softer suspension allows for more movement and more tolerance in smaller enclosure. Terrible advice on 2 accounts 1) Don't run that Kenwood amp at 1 ohm, it's not stable and will not run well wired at that impedance. 2) The hole where the terminal cup was, does NOT act like a port. It behaves like a big hole in a sealed box. Aiden, if you don't know the answer, don't reply. This is terribly advice and could lead to the spread of misinformation. what my boy said also what kind of wiring are you using in the vehicle
