Yes MUCH better, louder, and lower than the JBL IN THE RIGHT BOX AND ON RIGHT POWER. , i would never touch a Jbl product in my life (no offense) but thats along with kicker, sony, pioneer....

With that being said, idk what your battery size is but i would do a run of 0 gauge to the back and put maybe a XS D1200 or bigger in the back. Get on your local craigslist and look for deka's or XS. I like dekas and you can get them for cheap!

so since i need my trunk space i design a box and amp installation to save on space here is my first 3D drawing ever! (is draw to the perfect detentions and to a 1.5 cube size for the sub)

**note how the amps and sub will sit flush with the outer face of the box

I well designed ported box will be louder, lower and still sound just as good as a sealed box. I've seen SQ ported boxes tuned super low, like 28hz in some cases. Nice choice of sub with the FI Q. ;)

cool thanks for the input, however, im extremly tight on space as is and that why i opted for a sealed box and was forced to tilt the amps as shown on the pics.

**Edit - I found this post on here (http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149340-enclosure-for-single-fi-q-12/) where he did a ported sub box for the Fi Q12 i could use this and mount the amps to each side of the box, my question is if i do this would it mess the integrity of the box or anything. by doing this ill have 1.36" of air from the amp to the side wall of the trunk on each side. if i was to double up on the MDF on each side of the box to make it more regid when mounting the amps ill only have .61" ( a little over 1/2 inch) on of air what should i do??
