04 Blazer Slow Build: 1 minor update and 1 Big update, Plans Changing

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the forum!!

My dad owns a old two door (I think '73? idk I'll find out later) K5 blazer. I would love to fix up that truck but it has sat for ages and needs god knows what done to it.

This is what it looks like but it has some old faded peach paint on it and showing fiberglass on it.

Would absolutely love to revive this old beauty.

Thanks.

Yeah I've always liked those K5s. Always wanted to do a Chevy version of the Team Gates Bronco. But the S-10's are so badass. I think it's because of the Typhoon. I keep thinking I'm gonna make a poor man's version of it.haha

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

could definitely meet up. I have a little bass in the Focus and I'm trying to get started on the Suburban, but it's gonna be a long build for sure. Focus build is in my sig. I've only been here since november so I don't really know anyone yet. Arlington is only like 20 min from both of us it seems. What happened to your bass?

I decided to retire the Vegas and get some Obsidians. I was probably pushing the limits of them since they're so old and I didn't want to break them. It's crazy how sub technology has changed in the last decade. So right now the inside of my truck is all gutted except the front seats and the carpet. Trying to get all the deadening done 1st. Lots of foam and some Audio Technix (hopefully will get that ordered next weekend). I'm thinking 40 SF of the 80mil.

Sorry this is so long and drawn out. I haven't ventured into video editing yet. And that damn generator in the background sucks!

Enjoy!

BTW I peaked @ 48Hz. Forgot to mention earlier.

Nice job man... Looks like you know what your doin building a box...

I too share the love for Blazers and S-10s...

I spend many a years and hours on www.blazinlow.com and www.s-seriesforum.com and helped run a chapter of the S-Series Owners Group (SSOG) here in St. Louis...

I've had 4... I still own a 2000 S-10 Blazer thats been dropped about 7", custom paint, body mods and a host of other things...

Like you I was really into it for years, got out and am just not getting back into it a bit... This time, I'm wanting to do a system in my Trailblazer...
