Help removing OEM 3M after de-badging

Alright guys so I have tried and tried different things and I am at a loss... Removed the side trim boards on my 08 Suburban and they were held on by long ass pieces of double sided adhesive tape.

I heated them with a heat gun while pealing them off so a good amount came off but obviously not all. I've tried using a flat blade but can't get close enough without scraping the clear coat. I heated the adhesive and tried using my fingernail and got a lot off but still there was a shit ton of residue. I then tried using Goo-Gone which worked "ok" but not great. Then I used some commercial adhesive remover from Home Depot which worked better but it still didn't get it all...

Any ideas/recommendations?

i have removed countless badges from all sorts of cars/trucks and goo gone always worked the best WHEN USED WITH A HEAT GUN, and a old credit card. Never had 1 issue

Heat gun and credit card worked for me in the past.

When my heat gun crapped out, I had a fun time with the Goo Gone. It takes awhile, but it will get all the residue off.

With the heat gun and plastic panel tool I got a good amount off but there's still a very fine line almost of thin adhesive that even when I drenched it in Goo-Gone and used a micro and a lot of elbow grease wouldn't come off...

Wax and grease remover and then go over it using mothers clay bar

Alright I'm going to try the heat gun and goo-gone at the same time and see how that works.

When 3m adhesive remover and a heat gun don't work ... I use Berryman's B-12 Chemtool, It's a carburetor cleaner. Don't spray it on the paint....Just squirt some in a rag and rub the residue off.

I used denatured alcohol on the last two, but both were brand new cars so it may have been easier.

with heat of course.

I've used spray on bug-and-tar remover before without a heatgun (dont own one) and it worked really well...another option for ya there...it also works well on dried on tar lol who'd a thought?

this was on my 97 too so the stuff had been there for 12 years or so
