Radar Detectors - What has worked for you

Recommended Posts

Going to be racking up a lot of highway miles when commuting to college next year. I figured I should look into a radar detector. I don't go stupid with speeding, but always paranoid of getting pulled over.

I've heard amazing things about the Valentine 1 and Passport 8500/9500

I really don't want to drop $400+ on a unit. I see all the cheap ones on sonic, I didn't know if any of them were worth a hoot.

So if anyone has had any experience with a <$200 unit, or know of a sweet deal on an expensive unit, please feel free to share. Thanks

I love car audio so much because I will never be done. I can never win, and I will never get it finished or perfect. It always has me coming back for more, I can never get my fill of it, but I get what I need.

I'll be interested for sure if everything is included. (mounting stuff and cord/charger)

Valentine 1 is one of the best although if you get hit by a laser your screwed.

Not entirely true.

Yeah, I was wondering this. Can it detect laser? or why do some say that you are always screwed if you're hit by a laser.
