Mids are playing to high?! Help me?

Okay so im kinda mad that i didnt realize this earlier, its not my tweeters that are sounding harsh, its my mid ranges!! They're playing WAYYYYYYY to friken high . How do i stop this? This is whats sounding so terrible!!

Btw, i have rockford T2 6.5 components hooked up with passive crossovers. Do the crossovers block out the highs from the mids too?

Maybe they are just harsh at higher volumes. The mids should be Band Passed in a comp. set. I saw on diyma they need some eq in the 1-2k range. Do the x-overs have any adj. you can make?

That's a very common problem that most are saying about the t2 due to the tweeter, but not the mids

That's why I stopped looking at the t2 and started looking at the t1 or 3

Have you checked all the connection and how are you telling that the mids are playing too high

Have you tried removing the tweeters from the car and only playing the mids

Yes i have! I was swapping out my tweets yesterday and i did that, some songs are so bad its actually painful.

They dont have anything adjustable but i do have a EQ built into the HU and tried turning it down from 1-3k range, not sure if it made much difference.

So if the crossovers stop lows from playing, what about highs? Do they cut off at 3500? Thats what i wanna know. If not, why?

The crossovers only keep high freq's out of the mids and low out of the tweeters. The mids will play as low as 5hz without bass blockers or band passing them. I cut 1.5k and i also cut a little on both sides of that. I also cut 15k on the tweets. Those t2's are just harsh, they sound a bit like pro audio speakers to me. I bought the t1's that have the silk tweets but i haven't hooked them up yet. Guess i will see how they sound in a couple months

I also band passed my mids from 150hz to 3k and the tweets 3.2k and up. I also cut 15k on the tweeters about 3db. It helped a lot but when you start cutting 15k too much they get a washed out sound and if you cut 1k too much then the mids get brassy, or hollow sounding. Bet i can describe it. I was running full active so the tweeters were on their own channel off the amp, the gain was all the way down too compared to like half way up for the mids (set with dd-1)

You can try cutting 1k about 7db, and cut 15k about 3 or 4db and see what that does. Also, flip the switch on the crossover to -3db or the lowest setting there is.\

Stock, impossible to change my headunit. Waterfall dash, AC unit and everything is tied in with fiber optics. Its no joke though its a great HU. Go volvo. Ahah.

My crossovers are set lowest point. What im gonna do tomorrow is put my T2's in the rear and put my AQ PA 6.5's in the front... Finding nice components is hard as hell....

Something sounds off, i am running 2 sets of T2s active off my DEH80-PRS and they sound awesome as hell, Auto TA & EQ'd , tweeters to -10 db. mids between 100 to 1.5k i think. Not to high foe me. 2 T400-4s running the T2s as well. Doors deaden and sealed big time. Nice sounding setup. Sorry your sound high and harsh.
