Yes you should fuse it. The fuse should be rated at whatever your wire can handle current wise or slightly under.

Are you running a high output alt?

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

For now you should be fine with a 200 amp fuse then.

UH . . . fuse the alternator based on its output rating. Example - if it's rated at 120 Amps, fuse it with a 125 Amp fuse.

Never thought about doing it that way I've always read to just go by what the wire can handle. But I will start doing it this way from now on.

I also have a question for you I have a dc power 270xp I'm putting in soon. I plan on 2 runs of 1/0 from the alt to front battery would I fuse both at say 275 or fuse each wire at 140 for a total of 280. Never had multiple runs before so im kinda confused about that.

Why don't you just run "TWO" 4ga wire runs because you have a lot laying around?

edit: Run the Big 3 on doubled up 4guage. And again run 2 runs of 4ga to the back for power,

1. Clean everything off, wire brush ect.

2. Use 2 different grounding points in the front and in the back to spread the ground load out...... 2 inches center to center will work.

Seal it off, "No cement" you might want to take them off later.

P.S. Once you run the wires few times you will know where they need to do

Have fun

Does this smell funny to you? Its your sister :roflmao:
