goodvibez Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 I think you mean "redesign" lol....technically not completely finished I have to weld some L channel brackets to give this some more anchor points...just messin...yeah kind of a rebuild more time consuming bs but is what it is! Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! RossGo Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 I almost ground the lips of my 3100s off too. Wasn't square enough for my liking Yes I have a lot of stereo weight. I build for Smiles Per Gallon not Miles Per Gallon LOLZ My build - 1996 4Runner with 2 18s - 149+ in a sealed box (with radiators)
goodvibez Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 yeah...I wish they were perfectly square! but cant complain with a battery that is this awesome! goodvibez Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 So got my LED headlights...kinda the same ones as Jon put on his gmc....they are awesome! Decided no time to waste and took a while because of all the wires and had to do some rearranging but not too bad these come with a fan on the back so I cut a hole in the rubber to let it vent better..I cut it open even more after taking the pic trust me! left are my cheap HID's that came with my cheap ebay headlights....right are new led's...wayy more white and bright...wont buy these again hate how cheap they are made (Lights not bulbs) Edit hard to tell but the one on the left is more bluish purple...supposed to be an 8k color...ugly haha cut and drilled some angle iron to help hold down my batt rack Then had TommyLee weld um' up for me Nice beads bro...guy is pro! thats it for tonight...gonna get it bolted in the truck and I think I got the batts fix to where they slide in and out just fine so I'll wire them up and get them charging! tommylee11491 Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 did you get the rear of the rack bolted down?? and how did your batteries fit this time??
goodvibez Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 did you get the rear of the rack bolted down?? and how did your batteries fit this time?? They were harder to load because the rack was mounted but I shimed the back side of the middle battery and they seemed to line up almost perfect, still tight but they weren't all cockeye'd(spellcheck) wonkey one from another so all the posts lined up almost perfect...one was maybe a 1/32" tilted the wrond way but they all have 100% contact with every post....so good to go I guess No I havent mounted the back but will be getting at least one bolt on the right side...the body has that cavity that the rack sits on and I just went to ace and bought a long enough drill bit to get through both layers....will need your help welding up a special bracket to hold the bols from the underside. I doubt I'll be able to get bolts though on the left side of the rack because my body mounts seem to be right underneath it we will see. goodvibez Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 daaaaaammn Haha thanks bro...better slow down you might rip your d!ck off lol! did you get the rear of the rack bolted down?? and how did your batteries fit this time?? I doubt I'll be able to get bolts though on the left side of the rack because my body mounts seem to be right underneath it we will see. what about using rivet in nuts?? we just drill the metal inside the cab, rivet one in and boom! those would be nice but I already drilled holes and I think I got a solution I'll post some pics tonight...in the middle of trying my hand at running some welds...not going so good. Soo yeah NEVER welded before but was willing to try....practiced for about 10 minutes and got some decent beads going...then some ass hole comes over and goes dude your feeding too fast let me turn it down..doesnt ask just starts turning dials...doesnt even look at my welds just says it sounds too fast..I'm like no look at that it is just fine nice constant steady bead...mf ruined my groove andcouldnt not dial it back in...figgin welding bubble gum shit from then on...smh oh well I had a few good runs but that shit pissed me off I dont know much about it but I thought I dialed it in just fine..but its not that copmplicated of a design so if it dont work I can try again tomorrow Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it.
