I'm faced with the task of which side I want my port on, driver or passenger. The box is finalized and I'm sealing it from the trunk. But I'm divided on which side I wanna have the port. Opposite sides will unload better right? IE driver side port is louder on the passenger side (generally)

So do you prefer louder for yourself?

Or louder for the victim?

Yeah true. But then again I don't generally let non bass heads in my driver seat. Even with everything set up to beat all day long with no issues you still gotta hold 2k rpms and watch voltage for 12's.

Also something I didn't add... The only thing I wanna compete in so far is 39.9 bass race. Maybe 29.9 if I can't do a solid 39.9 even though I should be able to with my system

Oh really?.. So should I use the new box unsealed and test which way I like it better and then seal it off? Has anyone gotten different effects from sealed vs not sealed?

Why do you have to hold rpms at 2000? Oh yeah, Tenney alt.

Sealing off might help you, might not. I only gain a few tenths by sealing off, not worth it unless you're chasing numbers. Just center port it and call it a day.

Good one stang. I can play at idle for about 50 seconds full tilt before I need to rev or turn it down. My tenney is doing exactly what it should do for the time being but if it does quit then so be it. At idle the lowest I like to let it drop is 12.1 and thats with two hand me down 3 year old AGM's that im replacing with an XP2500 next week. And that's only for rap and decaf. 2k rpms and ill stay 13.1 all day. Any other music ill play all day above 13.6 at idle and 14+ driving. Hope the XS makes it even higher.

Can't center port the box BTW. It's either driver or passenger at this point.

Ibleedmuzik has already designed the box and it looks very promising IMO. I also don't have a shit ton of room. That extra .75 inches of space used up could have been the difference between 3.8 cubes (currently) and maybe 3.6 cubes. I already used 2 space saving techniques. One is using the false floor as the bottom of my box and second using the side wall as a port wall. That saved a lot of room.

I am trying to get as close to 4 cubes total after all displacements tuned to 31. Also I'm trying to have enough trunk space to get to my spare tire under the false floor if needed and also to have enough room for 1 rolling suit case or a couple bags of groceries.... That's why we are so pressed on space with this box because of my functionality requirements.

I would say take a shot at porting on driver side.. I always heard to Never port on passenger side..
