nolij1
Ok so let me try and give as much info on what i want to do. I have a 2000 tahoe with a 5.3l vortec motor from an 05 tahoe. i want to run my audio system, a computer at about 250 watts of power, and of course all the vehicles stock electrical stuff. so i was wondering what i would need. i thought 2 HO alts but that might be a bit too much. or i was going to leave the stock alt in for the vehicle, and have the HO alt for the audio. this is what i want to have as an end result: 2 ssa zcon 18" hooked up to an q13500.1 giving me about 4200 to 4500rms watts. then a pc taking no more that 240 watts of power. this is what i have so far: q1-3500.1 singer 350a alternator ssa zcon 18" dual 1ohm sub plan on getting: 1 more ssa zcon 18" another singer HO alt if i need it xs d3400 battery but not sure now many. truck already has the big 3 done. what i would like to know is how many batteries i would need? do i just need the one HO alt? or two? or the stock alt for vehicle, HO alt for audio? nolij1
can i get any help? i think im fine with the HO alt and maybe two batts, one front, one back. the thing im confused about is the fusing. my amp needs 380 inline. now i know the fuses need to match the wire. i plan on running two runs of skyhigh 0/1. now since im running from front batt to back batt., others recommend fuses near front batt and fuses near back batt. but i dont know what size fuses if i need 4 in total. i might even get those knuconkeptz holders that have 3 mini fuses. just dont know what amp fuses i need for what i want to do. n8ball2013
Alt is fine You are needing multiple runs of 1/0 at that point. Fuse at both ends Fuse to protect the wire I assume the runs are good up to 300 amps fuse for 300 amps Knu fuse holders suck imo go on ebay and find cheap ones Batteries id do 4 3400s if it was me. Or two 3100s at a minimum THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger. nolij1
so is this correct? 2 runs of power from front to back, 2 runs of neg from front to back. fuse both ends near batts. each fuse 300amps? or 150 each end to make the 300? thats what confuses me. also do i need to fuse between back batt and amp? SGT_76
300 amp fuse both ends of front/back runs, yes fuse runs to amps. Also, id run 2 runs from alt to batt as well...but that's me.
