ncochran
Anyone know much about this amp? As in, is it quality equipment? I have been told that it is rated around 2400 watts 2ohm bridged, does that sound legit? I am looking at picking one up this week for around $300 and am trying to figure out whether that is a decent deal. I would be upgrading from a Hifonics brz-2100. kl0wn
You're going from 2100 to 2400? You won't be able to audibly hear a difference. But to answer your question yes they are good. 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz
HatersGonnaHate
He'll notice less voltage drop, thus better efficiency, so there might be an audible difference. ncochran
Right on, thanks for the input. I am figuring this to be a huge increase in power actually. With the Hifonics, it is 2100 at 1ohm. My subs are currently wired to 2ohm, and after clamping it the other day (gains set by dmm and not oscope) I am only seeing between 700 and 900 watts between 30 and 60hz. The Cadence is rated at 2200 @ 2ohms bridged so that seems a better fit. I am guessing that my actual power will almost double. And if it is a more efficient and better quality amp, then it seems like a no brainer in this case. Thanks much! 2006 Scion xB 2 Sundown SA12D2 Ported at 32hz 147 on non termlab (140-142 on TL) Currently in a walled 4th @ 50hz (not metered yet) Hifonics brz2100 Alpine Type-S Components Kicker 300.2 Big 3 / Skyhigh 1/0 cca Optima Blue Top 3 e8s ported at 32hz 135.1 sealed on dash @ 56hz 135.0 outlaw (I must have chosen song poorly lol) Build log 'Brandon15zzz', on 09 May 2012 - 3:13 PM, said: May have been clipping but none fucks were givin. TaylorFade
Got electrical? 2k worth of A/B powa. Super solid amp, but it's going to be a pretty good jump in draw from a "2k" HiFonics making 700-900w.
ncochran
Big 3, stock alt and optima blue top up front. Looking into battery upgrades for the rear, just don't want to spend much on it until I find that I need it. I hold pretty steady around 13.2 or so right now on decaf music. If I get it and can't keep it in the upper 12s I will definitely make changes as needed.
