dangaranga
Hello guys, I am building a ported box for my Pioneer TS-3002D4, and i am wondering if you guys think that a 2.2 Cu ft gross box tuned to 34-35hz is too big? and the net size is about 2-2.1 after port displacement. And i do in fact know that pioneer says max size of 1.6 cu ft ported And here is a link to the sub i am using http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_16665_Pioneer-TS-W3002D4.html And thanks for your time and help Brandon 2000 Furd Ranger supercab 4x4 System: welding wire throughout the truck USalts 390amp Hairpin Juicebox in stock location 8 Banks of maxwell supercaps 2 American Bass Vfl 1100.1 wired to .35 each 2 Fi Audio Sp4 18's ( the DD sc 9918's smoked) Pioneer radio with Soundstream PA mids Powered by a nice sized soundstream 2 channel It's pronounced (dain-ja rain-ja) 2001 2 door focus 1 DD9918 SC

dangaranga
It's gonna be on 800-900 watts and i have a 3''x5'' aero port in the mail, and i also already built the box it's 24x17x12 but it's just sealed for now until the port comes in, oh and i made a mistake on port displacement lol the port displacement is about 0.02 cu ft. And it's going in my ex cab ranger Also i want to be able to hit the lows decent, i don't expect anything insanely loud and I have a cheap 12 in the box on about 400 watts to just test it sealed and it does alright playing decaf, I just wanted some input before i go and start hacking up the box putting in ports Thanks for your time!! john253a
24x17x21 in 3/4 all round is 2.12gross after sub dis your 2 now you have 3"x5" aero port? thats going be tuned to around 40hz if its just 1off 3" port 5" long the min idd want is a single 4" x12" long psp port in you want sub and port on front of box (at 35.5hz) or side port it at 17" for 31hz http://www.amazon.com/Precision-Port-Inch-Flared-Tube/dp/B0002ZPR56/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372853430&sr=8-1&keywords=port+precision+4%22 if you side port it youll get 33hz if you install 2x3" at there full 17" in length (the way they come from psp including the flare) ^this is my recommendation it will lower the net of you box a bit and give about 7.5:1 port ratio, it a bit low but will work ok http://www.amazon.com/Precision-Port-Inch-Flared-Tube/dp/B0002ZPR4W/ref=pd_sim_e_2 if you want to hear the 'lows' (decaf or similar) you'll need to tune it lower then 40hz if moneys tight just get the single 4"(not the best option but better then a single 3") if not get the the 2x 3" (still not the best, but for your box as it is, is the better option" if you want an spl type enclosure side port it with a single 6" at 17" long at 44-45hz http://www.amazon.com/Precision-Port-Flared-Tube-Kit/dp/B001001KIA/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1372854233&sr=1-3&keywords=precision+port
dangaranga
I am hoping to be able to play low but i dont really want to lose a ton of higher end output Will this port you linked be able to achieve this? http://www.amazon.com/Precision-Port-Inch-Flared-Tube/dp/B0002ZPR56/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372853430&sr=8-1&keywords=port+precision+4%22 And i appreciate the help i am just a complete noob at the whole box tuning aspect Okay after playing around with Winisd it looks like a 3x5 port will put me right 36 hz after displacements, and to get the 4'' port to 36hz tuning i will need it to be 9.88'' long, i dont know which way i should go with this, i already have ordered the 3x5 port, i guess i could try it and if it doesn't work out i can just order a larger port and i have another box to use while i wait for a new port Brandon 2000 Furd Ranger supercab 4x4 System: welding wire throughout the truck USalts 390amp Hairpin Juicebox in stock location 8 Banks of maxwell supercaps 2 American Bass Vfl 1100.1 wired to .35 each 2 Fi Audio Sp4 18's ( the DD sc 9918's smoked) Pioneer radio with Soundstream PA mids Powered by a nice sized soundstream 2 channel It's pronounced (dain-ja rain-ja) 2001 2 door focus 1 DD9918 SC
john253a
A 4" 12" including flare will be 35.5hz So yes a 4" 10" long no flare(as winisd calculates) Would be close to 36hz The 3" port will work and give you that tune, you will just get port noise that's all If you have the space to port it out the side spend the $27 and get the 2x 3" If you cant side port it then go the 4" x12" long an port it on the face
dangaranga
Well i already ordered a cheap 3x5 like 3 days ago but it was only $3 if and when it doesn't work out i will order the 4'' port like you said i will make sure when i install the crappy port it is in a spot that i can just cut a bigger hole for the 4''. Thanks for your help Brandon 2000 Furd Ranger supercab 4x4 System: welding wire throughout the truck USalts 390amp Hairpin Juicebox in stock location 8 Banks of maxwell supercaps 2 American Bass Vfl 1100.1 wired to .35 each 2 Fi Audio Sp4 18's ( the DD sc 9918's smoked) Pioneer radio with Soundstream PA mids Powered by a nice sized soundstream 2 channel It's pronounced (dain-ja rain-ja) 2001 2 door focus 1 DD9918 SC
