I was blasting some music for about 30min I was playing a decaf version of low frequency by dj billy e ..when I start hearing. A rattle with the bass playing ..I let it cool for a while. Then I started playing again after about 10 min of playing it started rattling again. this time I was playing faded by tyga ... I was running xl 18 m2 a saz4500 @1ohm with stock electric. And gain about half way .bass boost all the way down also on the radio I had the bass eq turned down too

You're running over 4.5k to a DC XL? I'm not sure how much you can overpower those but that sounds a bit excessive.

4500w amp on a 2200w sub. First mistake.

Gain about half way??? How did you set your amp to know if you are sending a clipped/distorted signal to the sub? Second mistake

4500w amp on stock electrical.....ouch

wow, by what you posted you were doing quite a few things poorly and wrong. double rms, shitty electrical, gain at half (whatever that means). Half gain doesnt mean half power. If you gain is just over what it should be, you can be sent into heavy clipping.

The rattle you hear i think is bubbling of the coil. Had it happen to me on a level 5 m1 when i clipped it to shit. The former bubbled out from heat build up and it not being able to escape the flatwinds of the coil, so it bubbles out the former and causes it to rub on the pole.
