East Texas
I have been " exploring my options" to the point of a headache...I have found some good deals online, but a few seem to be outdated models..ie.,I bought a '04 model Hifonics Brutus BX1205D for $239 and it Baangs the hell out of a pair of 450w memphis 12's @ 2ohms. i have been shopping for a 2-3000w amp, thinking i might try a pair of RE SE 15's (2x4ohm) i found for $209 ea. Heres what I am considring right now.. Autotek MM3000.1D Crunch 3000 D Pro Hifonics Colossus Alphasonik PMA800HCA Alphasonik PMA1000HCA-rated @ 1500x2 rms@1ohms or 3000x1rms 1 ohm mono Any body heard or used the Alphasonk line? The specs are as impressive as the prices. If anyone knows of another 3000w amp in the $450 to $700 range, let me know.

ALPINE408
I believe thats the amp that caused serious controversy in NSPL because it had such a low fuse rating yet guys were using straight pieces of wire in place of the fuse and getting a ridiculous amount of power out of them. If it is the same amp then that 180amp rating is a serious under-rating just to make that amplifier available to guys in lower amperage classes. NSPL uses manufacturer's amplifier fuse ratings for their power classes yet don't actually require the guys to use those fuses. that would be a modded 26kd for ya Have you ever had your woofers blown? Derrick824
If anyone knows of another 3000w amp in the $450 to $700 range, let me know. If you're possibly considering two smaller amps instead of one big one I'll recommend a pair of Sundown 1500s. My pair is putting out 5K strapped @ 1ohm. I got them used in mint condition for $645 shipped.
spl explorer
The MTX has my vote of course. All around GREAT amp. Wasn’t a MTX fan when I bought it and am still not a MTX fan but I love this amp. I have had it fused on a 250A fuse @ 1ohm for months now and never blew it. But the Sundown and VFL amps are a great choice also. Onlinecarstereo has the colossus for 699 shipped...I'd find that mtx as there have been many people reping it especially for the price...
