srool Posted July 11, 2013 Author Report Posted July 11, 2013 I have: 2 12" DC XL's 1 DC 5.0K 1 D3400 under the hood 2 D3100 in the trunk 2 runs of oversized 1/0 OFC cables Big 3 aare dune. I've metered it about 143-144 and wondering what kind of gain would the alt do juts by itself, without changing anything else. Can it be estimated in DB's should I expect less than 1 DB or more like 3-4DB I know that the only way is to buy an alt and see the what would be the difference, but I want to know if the alt is what keeping me from playing much louder as a a systel like mine sould play.

Guest Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 more voltage = more power to the amp = more power to the woofers = louder. we just cant say how much louder because thats almost near impossible to predict.
srool Posted July 11, 2013 Author Report Posted July 11, 2013 Im sorry for my English, it's not my native. If you mean How much my voltage drops- I measured it only when standing with the car, it is most of the time at the low 12's (12.1-12.4) but also get below 12V a bit if I play really loud.
