Borris The Blade Posted July 13, 2013 Report Share Posted July 13, 2013 Im going to my first AR in the next week or so and I could use a little advice. What brands or models to stay away from? My local shop only has one Colt and a few DPMS oracle and sportical. I don't want to cheap out either but I'd like to keep it under 1500. I know that leaves me a lot of room but there's so much out there and I'm not sure where to start. Ive also thought of building one too but is this something that a average mechanically inclined person can do? I know special tools are needed but is it do able? Didn't look at it much but it didn't have the magpul gear on it just the standard stock and carry handle. It's like rubbing your wiener up against a sheep. While I love my 308 dpms its a different league than the oracles I knew you had dpms just couldn't remember which one. They guy at the shop was trying to sell me on the sportical but it just looks to cheaply made to me. I might go back and look more at the colt but I wanna shop around a bit more and not buy the first thing I see. It's like rubbing your wiener up against a sheep.
