Brandon Jolley Posted September 2, 2013 Author Report Posted September 2, 2013 honestly with a 300a alt, only stock size XS batt, and big 3, you should not be seeing anything .1 or .2 below idle voltage running just a few hundred watts. edit: if you havent upgraded the charge lead to 1 or 2 runs of 1/0 OFC or 1 run of SHCA 2/0, do that FIRST. Maybe you have a huge choke point waiting to burn.... literally. But still a stock alt with a D3400 up front on 400-500w shouldnt lower you a full volt. I haven't upgraded anything on the electrical but the ALT. Going to do a min and max test on my fluke and see what happens.
