bassinyerface
x2 on the Hifonics suggestion. I also suggest testing some Audiopipes. Those are the top two most controversial brands I say. Some claim they do rated and some hate them.Yea I have had this same perspective on hifonics amps every since i got into car audio, they have been so controversial for the 15 years i've been seening them, lets end the controversy with some real results!Anyone got a big hifoniics amp they can loan steve? EDIT: my guess would be this, reputable amps seem to do 10-20% over the box ratings, so they exceed specs, Based off of hifonics price points, watts per dollar, i would guess that they do 75% of the box rating, or approx 25% under box rated power, thats my guess. if the day ever comes, lol Id loan him my brz 2400 for a free vm1 lol i love my hifonics btw im confident it does rated imo. 2003 f150, 2 ab hd 15 on brutus 2400.1, kinetik batt, big 3, knu wire, image dynamics cxs 6.5 with ppi tweets, pioneer 1din and clarion eq. 9Nails
I gave this little thing way to much credit. I expected more power. How do they get away with claiming 1,200 watts? Is there is no industry rating. Can you just stamp a number on anything? I'd like to see two things dyno'ed. Any head unit, and MTX brand amps! Like, this head unit can do 200W crystal clear for $40. (50 x 4 MAX) That's an amazing bargain and hugh upgrade over stock right? http://www.frys.com/product/6980017?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG And, here's a name brond head unit that also does 50 x 4 with MOSFET, and it doesn't say "max". That's gotta be better than the one above for just $30 more. http://www.frys.com/product/6940617?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG Edited July 17, 2013 by 9Nails

I think steve did a head unit, I think or maybe a clamp. If I remember right 50w x 4 head units do about 17w rms
Nathan Daniel Galen
Even thought hifonics do seem controversial and look cheezy (imo), my buddy got one that's 2 channel 600 rms x 2 @ 2ohms claimed, not idea if its the real power or not but his pioneer champion pro's are damn loud although I don't like because one his subs don't sound to what I like at any volume and 2 his amp overheats on hot summer days because it's class a/b but if they work, more power to em although I would love to see em tested
