port/ airspace problems

Recommended Posts

I would like to build one that will come out when the seat goes back in. When the seat goes in I have enough room to make a box on either side of the tranny hump. Im just trying to figure out how to make a box both now and later. Caise if it isnt possible to make a 1 cubic ft box tuned like that ill go back to the drawing board. I dont mimd having a temp box until I put the seat in and can measure what those dimensions are.

Ah, ok, was very confused, lol

I am thinking 2 full length (17") 4" aeroports will get you to 34hz if you double the baffle

Problem is the small space makes it hard to tune that low without sacrificing port area.

Aeroports are more efficient and don't require as much port area to produce the same effect as a slot port, so the amount of airspace from 2 4" aero's should be plenty sufficient for airspace

I hadnt tried doing more than one port. Yeah ive definatly come to find that smaller air space is alot harder to tune that low. When I throw the seat in I think I man do a common chamber over the tranny hump to maby make it easier to get more air space from it. Think thatd make it any easier??

Anf thank you for the help! Much appreciated.

Yes, common chamber will give you much better results and easier to tune

Here is a great thread that Rusty actually just did, 4 m3 8's in a silverado. Also shows some of his over the tranny hump fabrication to give you a good idea
