My understanding (my first go with a DC AMP also bro) is that its a variable BOOST... 0-9db bud. Feed that amp alot of juice, and you will be extremely happy. CJ18
Honestly I hate stock bass knobs. For me they do not give me enough control and because of that they never even make it out of the box. I prefer using the pac LC-1 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5260_PAC-LC1.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid_search&utm_campaign=paid_search_google_pla&scid=scplp3597102&gclid=CLS96_ShubgCFYmi4Aod3BgAWQ

I've always just used the typical phone jack looking plug with bass knobs Quote FI BL18 Build Log: CLICK HERE!! 2003 Explorer Sport: FI BL18 SoundQubed 2200 at 0.7ohm Pioneer DEH-2500UI Pioneer 6 x 8s Rockford Fosgate 6 x 9s 5 ft^3 box at 35hz Lots of Mega Mat
Trey_Dog650
You plug your RCA into the knob and then from knob to amp. People prefer the lc1 because its controls your pre out voltage. Allowing it to completely stop voltage (killing the signal to amp) or turn it up to the highest level you set. It's not a boost in signal Quote 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head.
