No matter what you turn up all the way, it should be turned up before setting your gains properly. If you set your gains properly with your subwoofer level at 0. And then turn it to +6... Even if the signal doesn't clip... Your most likely distorting the signal anyways now.

Edit: stop NINJA'ing me snow.

The sub level should be all the way up ON YOUR HU, not the bass boost bs but the sub level because that's the only way you will get full rca voltage. But after that set your AMP gains with a dd-1 or o scope and you should be fine to play as loud as you'd like on the volume knob. As long as your box is made well enough. And it looks like the specs are good

I've gotten a blowjob and picked up my iphone behind her back to see what email notification I got from smd before

How do you know that's the right thing to do?

Not turning the amp up? I know that you are supposed to set the gain on the amp to match how many volts that your HU is sending out so that there is no distortion in the music. My HU is a 2v out so I have it set to that on my gain as best I can by using small increments and math.

That's a good way to do it if you don't have an oscope or dd1 but for the sake of your sub and certainty try and find a dd1 to set it.

Yes you are supposed to have you sub level all the way up on most headunits. But what I was saying is that if you set everything up, and then increase something (like your sub level) then that could be bad

Leave your sub level on 0 and set the gain with a DMM IMO. That's your best bet without any other tools

My head unit will clip if I turn the sub level all the way up. Some do, some don't

Right now my sub and other settings are at 0 except for my highs. I'll look around for a dd1 or an oscope. And sword yeah I see what your saying, I'm gonna leave my setting where they are.
