i'd much rather run optima then kinetik after all the horror stories i've seen/heard about. I'm currently running my DC3.5k at 1ohm on a g34 red top with a stock 180 amp alt, the lowest I drop at or around box tuning is mid to high 12's, now If I try to play higher bass like 45hz+ I instantly see high 10's lol, impedance rise is a real bitch at tuning.

If anything, i've heard horror stories about the new yellow tops......i've heard of them dying on folks within months of having them

Kinetiks should last 5 + years as long as you have a decent charging system and occasionally put it on a dual-stage tender/charger

but then again, there always will be bad apples in a batch.....i wont hate on optimas, i just prefer Kinetik due to my good experience with them. XS batts are pretty good too from what i hear though i've never used em

EDIT: Kinetics have a bad tendency to swell and leak all the gas out causing them to fail way too soon, there have been a few local shops that once carried them until they began having problems to the point of losing sales from all the problems they were having.

really? never heard that.....

but actually since my license is currently revoked and im not driving my car as much --other than letting it run in my garage - i am interested in investing in a 2 stage battery charger for the Kinetik (dry cell)

do you have any recommendations?

the kinetik i have is just a hc600 diesel if it still holds a charge ( been sittin a bit ) ill sell it to ya. i have no use for it. i can get a decent xs batt for 225 where i am. i used to work for a audio shop and i get a discount still skullz i dont think that 9a34m is gonna be enough power for 2500 watts lol. ill be running the 2 fi xs on about 1500-1700 rms. according to my enclosure designer the box will be a little small for the subs so that much over power wont hurt. its gonna be 5^3 with 81 cubic inches of port tuned to 32-34 hz. the subs will get around 1.5^3ft each. i am gonna ask about the enclosure on here tho. anyways, i was looking at a xs d1200 anyone think that will do the trick?

I have had my d1200 as a starting Battery for a while now and i love it. Great battery but i just wish i went bigger because who doesn't like more power lol. i recommend the D3400 for around an extra $50 or so.

What is your stock battery upfront? Many don't recommend mixing wet cells and agm style batteries because of the different charging or resting voltage but I have no experience doing it to tell you if its fine or not.
