If you have a 80prs coming it should solve all your problems. I would keep the hpf set there for now. When is your HU making popping sounds?

all the time it just recently started. Its 3 years old and I bought it used so it had a good life so Im movin on to the 80prs

try turning the HPF knob down. 6.5" mids shouldn't be high passed over 100hz imo.

that's what soundqubed recommended

and did you try that?

edit: "gain only half way" means absolutely nothing. gain half way could mean you're sending straight up square waves to the speakers. headunit preout voltage determines gain amount.

how are you making sure the amp isnt clipping?

well nothing but the gain knob that comes with the clipping indicator which I know its not accurate. but its not loud at all with it at half gain
