99vic Posted February 24, 2008 Report Share Posted February 24, 2008 ok most you know i have been complaining about my system and how i got screwed. well last night and a good part of the morning i decided to what the hell it cant hurt me anymore! so i decided to go and rip my stuff out and start it over. i mean i took it all out. so first i added another strand of 4g wire neg. and pos. (until my big kit gets here) but its better than 1 4g wire. i moved my ground sanded the paint to metal and tac welded the terminal down so i know it was solid. i took out the audiobahn that everyone told me not to use and put my mtx in (that for some reason wouldn't work when justin hooked it up) i turned down every thing and set the volume on my pioneer to about 26 it goes up to 48 or 50. turned the dials on the amp up a little and kind of adjusted them until it started to distort then backed down a little the gain is a quarter of the way up the bass bost eq boost is less than half way up. i put better rca wires and shortened the wires on the power cell and hid them all. the bass on my deck is down all the way the sub level is at -12 and my shit hits hella harder than any of the other times i have had it screwed with. i need to get some pics i forgot to do that. it wasn't planed.. man it hits hella hard. and this time i only spent $3.00 ON MY ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK oh and i put the dynamat in it took away alot of the rattle. i am going to do the big 3 when i get my new alt. but i have a question sense i don't have a big system and my car calls for a 130 amp alt. should i just buy a stock one. (the reason im replacing it is because mine is inly putting out between 10 ans 11 volts). or they have a 175 amp alt. mrwigglezdj Posted February 24, 2008 Report Share Posted February 24, 2008 go with the bigger alt, stock ones just cant hold up to the current draw, ive been rollin with factory alt for 3 weeks now and ive been thru 5 alts, even tho its a 50 amp lol it can take it nicely for about 4-6 days then my voltage drops and it doesnt do anything at idle.... lol bigger is better im haveing my excessive amperage rebuilt and my leece neville , which when back should net me around 500-550 amps for my audio plus the factory 50 amp for stock elec.
