SteadyMobbin Posted August 8, 2013 Author Report Posted August 8, 2013 Go-n-Def I've checked the polarity by following wires and using a AAA battery but I'm going to use GoldenEye's advice to play a sub sonic tone to finally verify they are firing in phase. Joshex- I have a 100 amp ANL fuse under the hood on my 4ga, and at the distribution block there are 50 amp AGU fuses for each run of 8ga.

BboyTaktix Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 I would seriously use a single monoblock for both subs instead of 2- 2channel amps ..... damn that is very true I didn't even notice that. I bet getting a single mono class D amp powerful enough to drive both subs would help, plus higher amp efficiency. 2018 Golf R - Stealth SQ system build - C508GTI front (active), 2x Pioneer Z10LS4, Zapco DSPZ8, Clarion DPX11551 (Mono amp), Pioneer GM-D8604 (front stage amp), Pioneer GM-A3702 (rear fill amp) SOLD! 2011 Subaru STI - 'modest' passive sq system - JBL p660c component (front) JBL P662 (rear) JBL W10GTI (sealed enclosure) 4ch JBL GO1004 (150RMSx4), Clarion DPX11551 mono amp (+-1200RMS@3ohms)
SteadyMobbin Posted August 10, 2013 Author Report Posted August 10, 2013 It turns out the subs were out of phase, everything was wired correctly so I think it was due to having separate amps. It's louder now and hitting hard but I'm not convinced the two subs are completely in sync. Definitely +1 for a mono amp Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
