H/O alt or batteries?

Recommended Posts

I haven't done much electrical wise in my new suv and came across so unexpected money. I was wondering should I take the money and by two maybe 3 batteries or buy a quality h/o alt. I'm still running the sundown 2500d. If I buy batteries I plan on running an xs d925 under the hood and an xs d3400 in the back. Thanks guys

^^ X2. What he say. Both are equally important. I'd get the alt over the batter if I absolutely have to choose only one.

I will be buying both but only have funds for one or the other right now. How many amps on the alt should I look for?

The biggest you can fit/afford. Always better to have extra vs. not enough

A good alternator will be doubling that budget. Don't try to take short cut (or cheap out) when it comes to an alternator. It's the heart of your system that pumps blood (current demand) to your entire system. The last thing you want to do is keep on switching alternator in and out. Let alone the cost for labor and/or repair will exceed the price of a good alternator.

I have the money to buy a quality one. I don't ever take the cheap route. I've never done an alt upgrade in previous systems so i have no idea what amp rating I want/need. I'm probably going to go with a stinger because I've heard he makes quality ones
