darkjds Posted August 14, 2013 Report Posted August 14, 2013 Yesterday i installed my new dd m3b, right after that i drove around to test the subs, i played 5 songs full tilt with no problems, neither the subs or amp got even warm, later on i get in my car again, full tilt a song and smell vc and the subs r pretty warm. After checkin everything i see that the fuse in the external fuse holder that i put in for the amp was halfway (ANL) off the nut. Do you guys think that was the issue with my vc's gettin stinky? since then i played 3 songs full tilt with no issue im running the amp at 2 ohms Current Setup: , 2 Fi sp4 18s in a big ass flat wall tuned to 23hz, Pioneer 80prs, 2 Digital Designs m3bs strapped @ 2 ohms, Banda ICE2000, Crescendo 800.4, 4 PRV 10MR1000s,4 Mclaren MLT300 Super Tweeters Kinetik 2000 XS Power 2700 & XS Power 3100s.

If there is not a good connection the proper current doesn't get to amp. When bad connection voltage drops and not as much post can get to amp causing it to put out dirty power causing clipping causing stinky coils.
