CleanSierra Posted August 19, 2013 Report Posted August 19, 2013 So, I finally had some free time last night, up until now, to finally start reading the Loudspeaker Cookbook. It is overwhelming how much information is in that thing. I'm only on page 50 of like 307, whewwwww. For any of you guys that want to learn as much as you can about speaker design and enclosure design, I highly suggest reading it. It's got Klippel references, Thiele and Small references separately, it's crazy. I'm hooked and I'm going to try and read it a little slower than I'd read most other things so I can really soak up and retain the info. I figure it should make me a better contributor around here as well, and also to quit with the "rule of thumb" suggestions that are starting to run pretty rampant around here lately. Thanks BKolfo for suggesting the read, loads of info Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Kevin M Posted August 19, 2013 Report Posted August 19, 2013 It is a great book. It's one that you will have to read a couple times to get everything. You're right though; anyone who is serious about car audio should read this. 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle
Sergeant_Skyrim Posted August 19, 2013 Report Posted August 19, 2013 Do you have a link on where to buy it/what version to get? I've heard it mentioned a few times but never got around to finding it Edit: And yes I have googled it, I just see a few different versions so unsure of which one to go with Build in progress
Omega5002 Posted August 19, 2013 Report Posted August 19, 2013 Parts-Express sells the latest version, but you can find older versions on half.com for cheap, I got the 4th edition for $5 from there. CleanSierra Posted August 19, 2013 Author Report Posted August 19, 2013 Yeah im pretty sure the one I have is the 7th edition. Im assuming technology upgrades make the version I have a little better since he makes reference to LEAP software and another program called SpeaD and Reverse SpeaD. This software seems like it would be pretty awesome as it allows you to figure out which components you'd need to use EXACTLY to create a subwoofer. It's very interesting, he writes in a VERY industry specific jargon like it's NO big deal. I'm learning tons from the book though. I found my version online iChris, so I can't really help you with where to find it. I just googled and came across it. Give it some time, you'll find it if you look. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
