Madcamper Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 Well I need help I'm planing to up upgrade my cars (1995 Toyota Corolla) audio before the new year I know what I want but have no clue how to get it as my car is used to carry around wheelchairs and medical stuff all the time so space is limited every thing as to go under the front seats or in the stock locations. This is what I want: I want some bass but it as to take up hardly any space I know you can get subwoofer for under the seats but are then any good I'm not out for mad bass levels just enough to make music sound a bit better and not so flat I want nice crisp sound from the speakers again has to fit in stock location which are front doors and in the boot by the shocks (See bottom picture) so what do I pick I need a new head unit and this bits good I can go double din but what to look for I want input for my mp3 player and usb I think thats it This is the car nice and big I have no picture of the dash or door cards but will upload some later This is the boot oh how I love to have some subs in there but can't you can see the stock speaker locations near the seats Mad Camper is what they call me why you ask well 32 lights on my camper Moving from a camper to a small hatch back blow engine in hatch back buys a estate that spent 3 years in a field with only sheep as friends in all that time get married and become a full time care giver and loss out boot space for subs
Skullz Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 You could fab new speaker pods for the rear stock locations to house the speakers and a 6.5" sub in each pod. http://store.12velectronics.com/products/-Imagine-I6SW-6.5%22-Subwoofer.html They would each have to have their own chamber so as not to damage the speakers from over pressure. Get a nice set of components for the front along with a good amp to power them and the most important thing is to deaden and prep the doors to help bring out the best in the components. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
White Lightning Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 If you remove those rear quarter pannels and see how much room you have to work with ... You might can build 2 separate enclosures for a pair of 10s ported and tuned ... May have to get creative with the fiberglass molds and enclosure design, but could be a nice setup ... and look cool with a single 10" driver on each side of your vehicle ... And beings that the enclosures would be fiberglassed to be up to your vehicle (meaning very secured), should have some very aggressive bass ... may try and make a false floor for your amplifiers too ... Then again, just my suggestion here ... Kenwood / HELIX / Linear Power (For The Love Of Music) / Brutal Sounds / OverKill Electric Co Questions About Sound Quality ?? Try Here ... jarrius Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 They do have shallow mount subs that you could use to possibly go under your seats since you use the rear to carry stuff. As for components if you want you can use 6.5in ones or just run the factory size. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
john253a Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 Lookn at the car and space avaible Without doing major mods Look into 1 or 2x of kicker cvt6.5 or crt6.7 on 1x px200.1 (don't can them then not that bad for what they are) It will take up no space at all in the rear and made for ib setup They go in the rear wall or back trunk door, some sound deading would be recommended tho Then just find some nice front door speakers and run of h/u or amp under pas front seat No trunk space used at all
