TeamHT Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 You will need to see if you have an Ascendant Audio dealer in your area. If you do you can order though him or go to SSA which is the only online dealer. http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/categories/sub-woofers/ascendant-audio.html Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Thebeav Posted August 29, 2013 Author Report Posted August 29, 2013 The mayhem looks like a beast of a sub too.. Is it worth it? 2500w rms, $480? Would I want a dual 1 or dual 2 ohm..?
TRTC360 Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 for that kind of power i'd look more into FI Q, SSD, AA havocs etc. A single mayhem will take that power and laugh at it, but at the same time, motor force plays a big role in loudness too, so if pockets are that deep then go ahead with the mayhems, you won't be disappointed and they'll more than likely take any power you plan on putting to the pair later on down the road. TeamHT Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 The mayhem is straight beast. It can take 2,500 all day and sound good doing it. It's definitely worth the cost. Your voicecoil configuration is going to let you know at what ohm load you want power so you know what amp to get. If you're getting a single sub get the D2 and find an amp to do 2,500 watts at 1 ohm Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
TeamHT Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 But once you start really getting over 1,500 watts you should really evaluate your electrical setup. Basically your alternator, wiring, and battery. Every car is different so some vehicles stock might have enough amperage to supply a decent 2,000 watt system. What vehicle do you have? Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Thebeav Posted August 29, 2013 Author Report Posted August 29, 2013 I think I'll just run a single Mayhem, it seems like a pretty good starting piece. I'll definitely start looking for an amp that will do 2500 at 1 ohm, thanks ! I don't have my car yet, as I just started my new job, but I already figured I'd need to do at least the battery and alternator. What kindve wiring would need too be done? Im looking at buying an audi, vw, or subaru
Thebeav Posted August 29, 2013 Author Report Posted August 29, 2013 Also, what kind of enclosure would I want for the mayhem? I want it too hit as hard as possible without compromising sound quality
TRTC360 Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 2 cubes net tuned anywhere from 30-36, depending on what type of music you listen to, that's just my opinion though.
